Survivor - or, The Heat Is On!
In his BGE debut, gregarious Greg Garrett took a beating from arrogant musclestud Dick Rick (who doesn't?) that had many of us here at BGEast thinking weâ??d probably seen the last of the lean, blond, talented, midwestern indy star. Greg, though, loves the ring and he loves wrestlingâ??and it would take a helluva lot more than that one unfortunate mismatch to make him hang up his trunks for good, especially given the very positive reaction his initial appearance generated from happy BG East family of fans!
And even though he suspected he was, at the very least, being tested, and, at the very worst, maybe even set-up by The Boss, the eager, earnest, classic pro babyface was undeterred. In fact, he was even more determined, even defiant: â??Give me the meanest, nastiest bastards you got, Boss,â? was all he said after his debut. â??I can take whatever you've got, whatever theyâ??ve gotâ??and then some.â? Greg eats, sleeps and breathes wrestling, and after losing that debut match he has hit the training mats even harder than before. The match with Dick Rick, after all, was a bit of a mismatchâ??the thug had at least thirty pounds of solid muscle on Greg. So, why not see how Greg would do if HE had the size advantage while wrestling a mean nasty bastard? And who better fits that description than our own resident young terrorizing heel Jonny "The Heat" Firestorm?
The evolution of young Jonny from nice young kid and high school champ to a master of the dark side of the ring has truly been a fascinating journey to watch. Jonny shows very little respect for his opponents, mostly contempt, and his arrogance continues to grow with each and every demolished and broken opponent he poses overâ??especially when he gives up size and still convincingly comes out on top. â??Iâ??m the star of this place,â? he boasts regularly in the weight room, â??and nobody around here is fit to lace up my boots.â? Stars, though, have to do more than talk about how great they areâ??they have to prove it in the ring or on the mats, and, like him or not, Jonny has definitely done that! But overconfidence and arrogance have often led to great falls in the pastâ??and Greg Garrett is not exactly an unskilled wet-behind-theâ??ears no talent, either. The heat is on!
