Judgment Day
We don't like to rush to judgment at BG East. Ordinarily we wait to see what a man can do on the mats, in the ring, or under the gazebo before we give him the thumbs up ... or down. So we're being uncharacteristically rash when we say that, at first sight, D Fuller strikes us as having the perfect build for ring wrestling. Arms thick enough to break a pony's neck. Smooth hard pecs and a firm flat stomach with "punch me, I dare you" all but scrawled over it. His thighs look specially designed to squeeze the sass out of anybody with the nerve to wrestle this dude. And that phenomenal muscle butt! If ever a body was made for pounding other bodies, and taking a good pounding in return, this guy has it.
WE might be bowled over by the new guy, but Bulldog Barzini definitely is not. "Another rookie to be made an example of," he grumbles, climbing through the ropes. Barzini, of course, is built like a boulder. The guy would actually be a boulder if only boulders were capable of crushing you in bearhugs and scissorholds and not just in avalanches. For years now this boulder has rolled over some of our best babyfaces, even taking on two at a time, and the rookies he did not break in for us he just plain broke... leaving them to rot on the refuse heap of promising upstarts who just didn't have the balls or the brains or the heart to carve a lasting place for themselves on the BG East roster.
We can tell by the sudden flash in Fuller's eyes that the rookie knows what the stakes are. Clear, too, are the kid's determination and nerve. He's itching for a challenge, and there's no mistaking that the Bulldog is one hell of a challenge. The question is whether Fuller is really up to this challenge. He's young and inexperienced in the ring, but he's brawny, having spent his school years ensuring that the hallways between and after classes were safe and all the bullies knew their places, typically under this muscle stud's boot. But Fuller has not come across anybody like Barzini before, not in school, not in the streets, and whether it's by sheer self-confidence or by superior playacting, D Fuller doesn't flinch when he sees his opponent flexing iron and breathing fire across the ring from him.
"What d'ya got? Show me." The rookie has balls to talk like that to a man whose thighs alone carry enough red meat to build one and a half of us regular guys. Barzini pulls the kid into a posedown to distract him so he can take him down from behind. But the kid has good instincts and quick reflexes and slams the big dude to the mat. Fuller takes his lumps but keeps getting back up on his feet, ready to duke it out with Barzini, toe to toe.
