Paul's from-behind ambush is lightning fast and devastating. He rolls Lon up in a small package and slaps down a 3-count pinfall. But he's that much more irritated when that supercilious smirk is still there on "Lovely" Lon's face when they get back to their feet. "This is a knock outs match," the bodybuilder heel explains slowly with dripping condescension, like tutoring a stubborn child. "You knock your opponent out 3 times in a row, or you knock your opponent out until he can't respond to a 10 count."
"Which way do you prefer to lose?" Paul snarls, coiled for another quick strike.
As the action unfolds, these two consummate pros dish out equal parts highly skilled wrestling technique and ego wounding trash talk. They trade precise, painfully lingering holds like chess masters, setting up combinations three and four moves ahead. Expertly working Lon into a rear naked choke, Paul snorts, "Who wears pink anymore!?" The veins in the bodybuilder's shaved scalp bulge as he struggles to fight off unconsciousness. Many an opponent at BG East have learned what Paul discovers: it is never safe to count out Lon Dumont a moment too soon. With a slick counter, the bodybuilder escapes, softens up his opponent with a rib crushing bearhug, and then snaps on an airtight sleeper from behind. Slowly, horrified, Paul fades until his entire body goes slack in his opponent's arms.
"You know what they say in Vegas?! Always bet on pink and black!" Lon taunts, beginning the 10 count, striking a stunning pose of his championship physique with each count. He only makes it to 4 before the pride of Las Vegas reaches his hands and knees, breaking the count. The bodybuilder delivers a nasty boot to the ribs, place-kicking Paul across the ring before moving in for another knock out. However, putting down Paul Hudson twice in a row proves more difficult than Lon expected. Skillfully, the Sin City stunner turns the tide, methodically outpositioning his powerful opponent one move at a time until he abruptly locks on a crushing figure-4 sleeper, pinching off the blood supply to Lon's brain. "That's right, bitch, you're about to pass out!" he snarls. The ripped bodybuilder fights it long and hard, but slowly all of those granite carved muscles he's so proud of grow slack. "Yeah, that's right! Las Vegas prevails! Posin' ain't doing shit for your now!"
The back and forth battle to secure 3 knock outs in a row or a decisive 10 count is a sleeper fanatic's dream. These two put the "professional" in professional wrestling, demonstrating an astonishing variety of ways to make an opponent go limp. Guillotines, faces pounded into the corners, rear naked chokes, a dragon sleeper perched on the top turnbuckle,hold by hold they put one another down and test each other's ability to avoid staying down. Which pro has the stamina and perseverance to put his opponent out for good may (or may not) surprise you, but one of these cocky pros is certainly shocked to wake up all alone in the ring from a nightmare-laced sleep.
