There's the Rub
Our first match ends with a grueling bearhug-versus-sleeper struggle that's hot as blazes. Chest to chest, belly to belly, Blaine and Chace writhe and thrash, exhausting themselves in the effort to squeeze or smother each other out cold. Here is a groaning, huffing clash of strongmen worthy of an old-school Italian sword-and-sandal movie. Chace is swole and smooth as a modern-day Hercules, and the ever-ingenious Blaine has the charm and urbane good looks of a Perseus or Ulysses. The protracted contact of muscle on muscle is as sexy as you can get with your undies still on, and this epochal moment, all but life-and-death, is the culmination of one of the fiercest battles these two BGE stars have ever engaged in.
The buildup to this moment is as steamy and brutal as the climax. In the opening shot, Chase's bronze lats fill the screen as the camera follows him to the mat, where Blaine is stretching to loosen up for the upcoming fight. Both men are barefoot in baggy workout shorts. Chace strikes a few biceps poses for the camera, catching Blaine's attention. In an act of pure Janus-like duplicity, Blaine praises his opponent's physique and then shoves him with both hands, an act of deliberate provocation. Chace smirks, amused by Blaine's bluntness, perhaps even a little flattered by the man's haste to engage with him physically. Slighting Blaine for his slim build, Chace shoves back. Blaine claims he doesn't need muscles of steel to beat LaChance.
The combatants circle each other on the mat. They lock up. Janus lunges for one of LaChance's legs, misses, yet succeeds in bringing the big man down. He puts the muscle-god in a side headlock, his free arm bending Chace's left arm behind his head. Chace tolerates the hold for several seconds before snapping loose of the hold through sheer brute force and then thrusting Blaine away. He ham-fistedly bears down on Blaine, flipping him onto his back, and traps him in a head and arm scissors. "How do those legs feel, huh?" Chace asks with characteristically dry sarcasm. Blaine flops and twists like a mouse in a trap.
Given the strong contrast in physiques, the action is surprisingly give and take, with a lot of messy schoolboy scrabbling that is hot as fuck. Blaine manhandles Chace with surprising success, taking care to give you a good long look at LaChance's herculean body under duress. Most of the match is shot in a long take with few cuts or edits during the two men's arduous struggle. The camera stays in motion, pulling in close to provide a mat-level view of the fight. Camera movement and the long take thus allow you maximal involvement with the wrestling, short of being there in person. Four minutes into the match, the wrestlers begin stripping off each other's shorts to the white underwear. By the six-minute mark, both men are down to their cotton whites, and the grappling becomes more reckless and incensed.
From one minute to the next it's impossible to predict who the ultimate victor will be. Most of the thrills are in the struggle to reach that final standoff when both wrestlers are entangled in the other's deathlike clench, and the only question is who will succumb ... or black out.
