It takes a lot to impress Austin Cooper. The seasoned veteran has seen it all, done most of it himself, and outlasted nearly every other wrestler in the business. He's heard all the buzz about the athletic young Brazilian, Dio Characi, but it all sounds like white noise to him at this point in his career. Austin has pounded plenty of popular pretty boys predicted to be the next big thing. Not a lot is going to surprise or impress the veteran anymore.
Dio Characi making his entrance by doing a round-off back handspring across the backyard leaves even jaded Austin at a loss for words. Dio can't stop impressing opponents and making fans. The Top Babyface three years running, he's jaw-droppingly gorgeous with a deep down passion for wrestling. Dio has taken some hard losses, but he just comes back hungrier and smarter every time. Dio is almost exactly where Austin was 15 years ago, the hot new golden boy, drawing fawning fans and irritating heels.
Austin is intent on putting the cherubic pretty boy in his place early and often. Within seconds, he's scored a take down and rolled Dio into a spine-straining Boston crab. He crushes cries of agony out of the Brazilian It-Boy with brutal bodyscissors that highlight the massive muscle that Austin's been packing on lately. He's sincere when he offers Dio the opportunity to just walk away and call it quits two minutes into the match. No one is surprised or disappointed that Dio keeps going.
Dio is nothing if not tenacious. He chokes down gallons of abject suffering, and even concedes a few hard earned early submissions. But he's incredibly fast and shockingly limber, turning the tables on the veteran. Those long, powerful legs of Dio's will not be denied once he's locked them around Austin's skull. "You're going to regret making me give," the Brazilian promises with a sneer, ratcheting up the pressure and laughing sadistically when Austin's entire head turns purple. Squeezing a shocked submission out of Austin feels too good. Dio makes him repeat it, milking sweet suffering out of the stunned veteran. "You didn't think I'd give up so easy, right?"
Austin's got a whole lot more fight on his hands than he expected. Dio is relentless, swarming the veteran and lording over the shocked muscle man with taunting schoolboy pins and facesitting. Austin sports way too much functional muscle to stay down long, but both men pull out all the stops to win this generational battle of golden boys. The eventual winner will settle for nothing short of an apology, squeezed out of a spine snapping camel clutch. "I'm sorry," the bested wrestler is forced to concede. "Well," the winner snarls back, "sorry is not enough!"
