J-Rock wrestles barefoot in leopard-print tights. Maybe this is what film critics mean when they say something is an "homage." With all due respect to The Boss, what it means at BG East is "trouble." Here, seeing leopard spots is usually what a wrestler sees just before he starts seeing stars... looping over his head with birdies tweeting in and out. And J-Rock has the mass and ring savvy to make you see whole constellations! He has been the company's go-to guy when there's new meat needing squashing. Mike Columbo, Kid Brock, Tony Cosenti, Justin Pierce, Brendan Byers - all notches on this J-Rock's holster. And he notched up Paul Hudson and Cameron Matthews together in a single match! Nice!
In old-school pro wrestling, there was usually this one guy known as the "ripper," especially skilled in the arts of doling out pain, whose function it was, to set a wayward wrestler straight, so to speak, and put some serious hurt on the guy. It was a primitive but effective management technique when a performer was pushing for a raise or stirring up trouble in the ranks. So if this is what it is, who is the chump cruising for the bruising?
Jaxx cockily bounces to the ring, mouthing off about how fantastic he is, how he's got the looks and the muscle to be a "playah." He struts around and flexes, his pearly whites flashing as he grins like he's king of the world. O'Doul has packed on the muscle in his years at BGE. He's a big young man all right. Not as big and beefy as he seems to think he is, but for his young age, very impressive. While Jaxx hawks his beefcake to the camera, J-Rock watches him coldly from behind. Watching this too-cute young blowhard as he wiggles his monogrammed blue butt makes us yearn for J-Rock to stomp it bad.
Taking nothing away from O'Doul's skills and moxy, it is safe to say that young Jaxx has not had an illustrious win record here. But it wouldn't be fair to say that he's a jobber. Far from it! He's made a good showing even in the matches he lost. His background in amateur wrestling gives him speed and mat savvy. Nobody, not even the imposing J-Rock, is big and scary enough to make this big beefy boy roll over and play dead.
