A head scissors counter provides brief relief from a grinding headlock, but when Dick escapes and reapplies, he adds to his advantage by repeatedly ramming his fist into the rookie's wide open face. Forearms, chokes, stomps and suplexes. But when a perfect bow 'n arrow earns the inevitable submission, what's shocking isn't the way Greg frantically flails his arms in a desperate tap out, but the ecstatic, even maniacal expression of pleasure on Dick's face, as if he suddenly realizes, BGE doesn't simply provide a bigger paycheck, its un-reffed ring is an opportunity to indulge his darkest desires to do damage.
Dick rises and hovers, watching the rookie cough and gag and splutter. There is no pause. Multiple backbreakers lead to a Boston crab that has the rookie screaming "Oh God, oh please!", his pro dreams morphing to nightmare with each new debilitating hold invariably accompanied by taunts and teasing which goes well beyond smack talk.
Greg rallies, once, twice, a primal urge to survive. Greg may be new to BG East but he is not new to ring action or to the adulation of fans, both in the arenas in which he wrestles and on the underground circuit where he is idolized. But each time he rallies, Dick digs deeper into his bag of reprehensible tricks. Gut claws, closed fists to the face, powerslams, a full body workover with one intense back-breaker after another which leave the rookie ripe for an easy pin, but as Dick drops down and plants his sweaty armpit over the kid's cleft chin, it isn't to count him out but to give him an up-close look at his flexing biceps before pulling him up for more. Luck of the draw for Greg but a great debut nonetheless!
