Never Turn Your Back on a Snake: More Masks on the Line!
Slowly the opposing forces circle each other, eyes locked as each man sizes up the man he has been booked to fight. Each flaunts his muscles like a peacock displaying its plumage. By turns, each tries to upstage the other, vying for the fans' admiration. From his first appearance at BG East, Silver Eagle has been the emblem of hairy-chested Americanism. His red, white, and blue mask identifies him as the champion of all that is good and decent and the punisher of all villains and ne'er-do-wells. In stark contrast, his opponent Dr. Magnificent, from parts unknown, is a wild card. Sinister rumors surrounded him the moment the masked Adonis arrived. Most of our wrestlers kept their distance from the loner in white. Something about the guy is "off," they said. There was tension in the air at just the mention of his name. The contest in the mat room takes shape in utter silence. Magnificent, in particular, appears to resent the American's ability to draw the camera's attention. He stands with his back to the cameraman, using his bulging biceps to block Eagle's face from view.
The one-upmanship proceeds to tests of strength, first an arm-wrestling challenge on the mat, which Eagle handily wins, twice, infuriating Magnificent. Then, the masked men rise to their feet and, at Magnificent's insistence, interlock fingers for the classic pro-ring test of power and resolve. Silver Eagle forces the Doctor down on both knees, a most impressive win, but the humiliated newcomer pushes his way back up and, in a defining breech of good sportsmanship, drives his white boot to our hero's midsection. Unable to beat the American fairly and squarely, Dr. Magnificent, so called, resorts to cheap and dishonorable tactics. By such egregious means, he intends not only to defeat Silver Eagle but also to destroy him, purely out of spite.
While Eagle is down on his hands and knees, the nefarious Dr. M rains closed-fist blows on the man's vertebrae, flattening him to the mat. He then removes his studded harness and chokes our masked hero with it, squatting on his back as if he were reining in a wild horse. Silver Eagle desperately claws at the harness, struggling to take in air. Magnificent intensifies the choke, pressing a boot between Eagle's shoulders while yanking at the improvised garrote with both hands. Casting the harness aside, Magnificent applies the camel clutch as further punishment of the already severely compromised patriot. Throwing back his head, the maleficent Doctor takes sensual pleasure in Eagle's gasps and groans. His playlist of further punishments includes the Boston crab, pec twisting, full body slams, and an assortment of back-breakers
Dr. Magnificent presses his luck too far, though, taking advantage of Silver Eagle's defenseless condition to try to unmask him. Eagle lashes back at this cowardly aggression with forearm smashes to the villain's smooth, sculpted chest, beating him almost senseless. Still feeling the after-effects of his recent pummeling, Eagle takes a moment to recoup and strike a pose for the sake of the fans watching at home. He pays for turning his back to a rattlesnake like Magnificent, who attacks from behind, resuming his sadistic assaults. Late in the match, too late perhaps, Silver Eagle decides to fight fire with fire, forearm-slamming Magnificent in the nuts. Our hero decides you can't play fair and square with a rat like the Doctor, and he delivers a full serving of bone-crunching comeuppance, determined to unmask and thus expose the villain for who he really is. The last eight minutes of this contest consists of the finest mask-versus-mask fray ever caught on screen, with a tightly knit climax that will grab true-blue BGE fans by the balls!
