Peter Owens may not have the experience of Exavier nor the flash of his persona and appearance but he's tall and wiry and determined to make an impressive showing in his debut BGE match. He takes after Exavier with as much aggression and force as he can muster. A choke on the ropes, a sternum stomp in the corner, bodyslams--breath-taking tactics deliberately designed to turn the beefier dude's size into an oxygen-deprived disadvantage. But when Exavier counters into a tight cloverleaf, wraps the rookie's arm around the bottom rope to boot, it's an opportunity to catch his breath, rally and excoriate the rookie for his effrontery. A sweep, a reverse figure four, and just that quickly, it's one to one.
Owens resists a long-held leg-crunching, back-bending sharpshooter, but when he rises it's on weakened, injured limbs clearly evident as he limps around the ring. An old-school bridge pin is surprising and surprisingly effective. But as Exavier begins to depart, he pauses to reconsider. "Wait--I never just leave." A sit-out powerslam sets up the rookie for a finish. Not quite satiated, Exavier wants another. But after the career-threatening beating Dick dished out in the opening match, we can't risk losing another potential star. The question is, does Exavier care? And can Exavier The Extreme be stopped?
