The Education of a Hot Young Heel
In round two of this match, Greg Garrett shows Pete Owens some of the downsides to being a vainglorious prick and proves that Owens' bravura can easily be wiped clean off him if he wants to cross swords with a determined fighter like himself. "Welcome to the big league!" he snarls at Owens as he crashes down on the tall man's balls!
This battle gets vicious fast. Lines get crossed, and in no time the two men go beyond just wanting to win to prove himself to the fans, to wanting to put the other man out of the wrestling game for good. If Owens was gunning for an archenemy of his very own, he's now found one. One fall hardly ends before the action heats up all over again. These guys donâ??t want to take even a minute's break from getting their hands on each other.
The trash talk and moans fill the room. Each man endures the sort of agony that would reduce most men to quivering jelly, but these guys don't let up or give up easy. This match has more balls - and more ball-bashing - than any twenty big-league wrestling events put together. Garrett and Owens alike prove their mettle in the ring, and it's all fireworks. At great cost to himself, Owens manages two submissions. He can only stagger away from the second fall, propping himself up at the turnbuckle. But Garrett astoundingly springs up. After taking a pounding, Greg's got a taste for more Pete.
Having eked out two victories, Pete's ready for the showers and maybe a 13 hour healing nap, but Greg tells the sadistic heel to read the fine print of their contract! This fight is for three out of five falls. Pete is not going anywhere until he takes Greg down one more time. The outcome of this fight is one of the most satisfying we've seen in a while. After Greg roughs Pete up good, the latter should perhaps be reconsidering his chosen career! But the youngster shows superhuman resilience and a taste for vindictive violence that, we're pretty sure, just one match is not going to get out of his system. In the end, one man limps out of the ring, leaving the other man a shuddering heap in the sweat-soaked ring, but they have both got to know that this match is one that fans of two-fisted rumbles are going to remember them for, for a long, long time. A GREAT Ringwar finale!
