Gino Gotti looks like he just got off Parris Island with his jarhead haircut and lean muscle, highlighted by lightly trimmed dark curls over the chest, belly, forearms, and thighs. His rugged looks grace a quiet, unassuming demeanor, free of self-doubts and ostentation alike. He stretches his body under the BG East gazebo. The sun shines through the green wood behind him. Birds twitter. Then Kieran Dunne wanders up, entranced by his own reflection in the compact mirror he holds in his hand. Dunne is stacked liked T-bones on a Nebraska grill. Every waxed muscle pumped up and out, he could be a power lifter named Truck in a Jean-Claude Van Damme movie ... or a flotation device in a West Hollywood pool. This young man only gets more surrealistically massive with each passing year.
Without even glancing up from the mirror, Kieran reaches out and casually pushes Gino aside. Gino just stares at him, face set for the fight. "You gonna wrestle me?" Dunne asks with a cold blank look on his face. "Yep," Gotti replies, in his best Gary Cooper aw-shucks manner. Kieran has the world-weary smirk of a guy on his thousandth turn on this theme-park ride, and, indeed, if he doesn't already take top prize in strutting his stuff in the most BGE series, he is surely in the top half dozen. This is his fifth rumble in the gazebo alone. To say that Kieran Dunne knows his way around the BG East compound is a gem of nuanced understatement. No wonder he parades about like he owns the place.
The differences in the wrestlers' sizes and swagger are strongly evident. Kieran doesn't even give Gino the respect of looking him over, so confident that he knows the drill by heart and can beat any newcomer black and blue, even blindfolded, and he is not blindfolded. Somewhat surprisingly, given his thickness and weight, Kieran outmaneuvers his lean, hairy-chested opponent early in the first fall. Dunne shows off his beefy buffed physique even while putting a few dings in his opponent's. Six years ago Dunne might have been the lean, pink-cheeked rube Joshua Goodman could push around, but the years have given Kieran a certain edge, if not good judgment or love of sportsmanship!
While he stretches his opponent out, the man grunting in pain underneath him, shoulders just a half inch shy of a pin, Dunne can't pull his eyes away from his own biceps, so enamored of himself that he drops a sure, solid and potentially victorious hold to strike some more poses for the camera. The question is whether Gotti can capitalize on Dunne's attention deficit and reverse the fight's momentum. The longer this match, the better!
