Live Wire Meets Mouthy Morgan
There is an unspoken but palpable tension when two wrestlers face off on the mats or in the ring. There is the inevitable sizing up of mutual prospects and the natural comparison of strengths and weaknesses. What does he have that I don't? What might cause me trouble, or worse, pain, or worst of all, defeat? And what do I have that can overpower his perceived weakness? Morgan's 30 pound weight advantage, thick imposing musculature and masculine hairy chest didn't seem to daunt Eli in the least. However, the big man's show of flexing bravado belied his niggling concerns regarding his smaller opponent's impressive and imposing attributes. Eli's shadow kick boxing and smooth MMA warm-up moves, those eye popping abs and that expansive rod in his white briefs would be enough to alarm any opponent, let alone a fellow rookie, albeit a 30 pound heavier one!
"This isn't MMA. This is wrestling." Morgan Cruise speaks in a slow, ominous tone, as if he might be the voice of fate itself. He continues posing, studying his imposing figure in the mirror. Cruise acts less impressed with his opponent's lightning-like agility than with his own presumably impregnable physique. Ignoring him, Eli Black blithely darts from foot to foot, socking invisible jawbones in the air. "Let me do you a favor and teach you a thing or two ... about ... wrestling," Cruise intones. And in a flash his massive arm collars Eli from behind. But he might as well have snatched hold of a live wire, as Eli instantaneously snaps into action, sinking three solid rights and a back-kick to Morgan's midsection and then pushing the big man into the corner for yet more punishment.
With a show of force, Cruise pushes Black off him. The two rookies square off, trading jabs, ducking and dodging, darting and diving. Eli floats and weaves, his slim, rippling physique perpetually in motion. Slower but more compact, Morgan hunches down, taking Eli's stinging blows as they fly at him. "Y'scared?" Eli mocks. "I didn't take you for the scared type." Winded and cornered, Morgan claims that he's just warming up. Black helps him "warm up" with a couple of kicks that back Cruise into the corner, raising hot, pink welts. Frustrated, Cruise responds with a wild left hook that doesn't come close to his nimble, almost weightless adversary. Like a viper, Black strikes back with a quick series of kicks to Morgan's hamstrings and calves, intent on bringing the handsome brute down.
