Malice Through the Looking Glass
Kirk Donahue waits impatiently for his scheduled opponent, Biff Farrell, to show up. Gazing into the ringside mirror, he strikes muscle poses to while away the time. Kirk's probably the best jobber BG East has ever known with his babyface looks (plus award winning bulge), expertise in taking bumps, and all-around knowledge of pro-wrestling.
Eventually he tires of waiting, sighing resignedly as he exits: "Guess I'm not going to get beat up today." The camera lingers on the door then pans across the ring ropes back to the mirror. It's no ordinary mirror, though. It's an opening to a sixth dimension, a Twilight Zone or a wormhole, and in it now we see reflected a wholly different Kirk Donahue, sinister and slippery, snarling at his reflection as the long-awaited Biff finally enters the ring behind him.
Kirk sneers, his eyes fixed on Biff: "I'm probably your worst nightmare." Bad-ass Kirk, stunning the once-hopeful babyface star, leaps into action and dominates the late arrival with a sequence of assaults that quickly and efficiently lead to an endless claw hold on Biff's powerful pecs. "Say 'Kirk Donahue's the Best!'" Evil Kirk demands. Biff hasn't a clue what just hit him. He struggles to escape the claw, and through great and valiant effort, he frees himself. In a breathtaking show of raw power, he heaves Kirk up over his head. His muscular arms hold the mirror heel aloft, then cast him to the mat to stomp and pummel him between the shoulder blades, and then bend him in two in a camel clutch. Biff is certain he must immobilize this heel-turned juggernaut. But it's not over yet for the villainous Kirk. He reaches back and holds Biff's head in place to headbutt the strongman in the teeth.
Biff somehow recovers just in time. He heaves Kirk up in a fireman's carry, executes a couple of deep knee bends with Kirk's weight on his shoulders, and then slams the heel to the mat. Biff covers Kirk and slaps his palm to the mat three times. First fall goes to Biff Farrell. Finally, he feels the confidence coming back into him: perhaps this he can recover his big day to finally win against a "fair-fight babyface opponent" - perhaps he just misinterpreted what happened in the flurry of action (or is this another Boss double-cross)?
Kirk looks shattered, grimacing and quivering against the corner ropes, barely able to get back on his feet. Biff approaches the Kirk he remembers, to pull him up for more punishment, when sneaky Kirk rams his forearm to the muscleguy's nuts then bulldogs Farrell's face to the mat! Kirk pounds Biff with shoulder thrusts against the turnbuckle, delivers a nasty slap to his face, and whips Biff to the opposite corner and back again. Kirk even uses the ring ropes for added leverage as he torments Biff in a figure-four leg lock, ultimately forcing Farrell to tap out. New Kirk is ecstatic, crying out, "Feels good to have somebody submit to ME for a change!" With a second fall submission to his name, Kirk doesn't wait for Biff to get back on his feet, or for any bells. He just continues his furious, adrenaline-soaked assault, capping it with a splash dive off the ropes and a full three count. Third fall to Kirk!
We are only at the match's midpoint and have witnessed more drama than some matches provide from start to finish. Growling "This is what happens when you make me wait," this new Donahue pushes forward with one relentless attack after another. Mirror Mirror drops us all down the rabbit hole in one of BG East's most bizarre and original fights. The wrestlers perform amazing feats of strength, endurance, and rage, climaxing in a figure-four sleeper and an unforgettable surprise ending.
