Sean Chen has waited long enough. He stands next to the ring, but his opponent is a no show. He throws a towel over his shoulder and opens the door to leave. There, right in front of him is his menacing opponent! Manny Mendez is thick, heavy, hairy, and brimming with gym attitude. He grips Sean's neck and looks down his nose at the new hire. "Where are you going?" He backs Sean against the ring ropes. Mendez cocks his head to the right. Chen looks worried, and no wonder. Mendez picks Chen up and throws him over the top rope and into the ring.
Mendez is huge, made of concrete, with thighs as thick as tree trunks. He's heavy and mean, always ready to brawl and bruise. He hit BGE running in a match with Dio Characi, he followed that match with Chace LaChance (in the 2024 Best Ring Match - an instant masterpiece, highly regarded by fans of rock-em sock-em roughhouse), and then Stevie Suave. Sean is next in line. Mendez hangs him up on the corner ropes and delivers punch after devastating punch to the new boy's ribs. Sean hangs on the top ropes. Manny throws him over his shoulders like a sack of potatoes and drops him on the ring floor without mercy.
He then applies an iron claw on Chen's abs and follows up with a scissors. He throws Chen over his shoulder, bounces his victim, then drops him in the center of the ring, and he reapplies the iron claw, forcing a panicky surrender! Mendez delights in hearing his opponents moan and whimper. He kneels beside Chen and flashes his impressive biceps. Manny is old-school, and we love it! Sean still catches a whiff of triumph later in the match, when he snaps a leglock on Mendez's head. It's a tight hold, but Mendez casually says, "Yeeah, but this is not working for me," and slams Chen to the ring floor. After a few twists and turns, Chen cries out (AGAIN) "I give!"
Manny has not overlooked the turnbuckles, and he has fun hurling Chen from one corner to another. He picks Chen up and sets him up on the top ropes. Chen slaps his oppressor across the face. Mendez staggers back, one hand pressed against his hairy cheek. He charges into Chen, who leaps into his hairy arms. Manny squeezes the kid hard and tight, swinging him back and forth, all but snapping the kid's spine in half. He drives his shoulder into Sean's chest repeatedly. Sean's panicky cries count for nothing for Manny. Sean cries "I give!" but Manny maintains his traumatic grip on the upstart a few more beats and then slaps him flat on his back.
The rage is stretched out all over the match's final minutes; Manny Mendez has had enough of this punk, and in an extreme punishment he tries to crush Sean's skull between his bare hands, and he comes damn close in succeeding before he slams Sean's face to the mat and throws him over his shoulder as his well-earned trophy and storms out of the ring. Demolition indeed!
