We are pretty sure that when Austin Cooper envisioned his comeback, he could only imagine himself standing tall over a pile of broken bodies from the newest generation of underground wrestling talent. After all, it would be impossible for any of them to have what it takes to beat the man with dozens upon dozens of matches under his belt and more than 15 years of experience. Austin's comeback at BG East, in his mind's eye, would be a parade of victories to celebrate his legacy, topped with the dopamine rush that always comes from flexing over his conquests.
With the certainty of another easy victory, Austin welcomes rock-solid Manny Mendez to the ring. "Big man came to play, huh?" Cooper might seem unfazed by the size of his opponent, but as experience kicks in, he makes sure to strike first against his big opponent. Austin's middle-rope-assisted low blow greets the hairy beast, quickly bringing him down. A barrage of stomps and elbows rain over Mendez, as Austin enters full 'bashing' mode. As Austin manhandles Manny on the mat, where his advantage resides, it looks like Manny will join Sean Chen and Dio as Coop's BGE comeback victims... But overconfidence leads to the simplest of mistakes and Manny is up on his feet: an into-the-corner Irish whip reversal serves as a time machine, sending Austin crashing into the ring pads into a flashback of Cooper's jobbing years.
A world of hurt awaits the beefier stud who gets tenderized by Manny raw power. Soon Coop finds himself trapped under the big man's boot, gasping for air his comeback dream turnig into a nightmare. Like an apex predator ready to dethrone the current alpha, Manny ferociously assaults Austin, barely giving him a chance to process. Crushing his Coop's back, head, and even crotch, Manny's mighty arms and trunk-size legs turn him into a human compactor. In a moment no one could have ever foreseen, here's once-confident Cooper trying to make an escape, but he's quickly dragged against a ring post and back to his torture.
