Ethan Andrews was eager to accept Lorenzo Lowe's second challenge. Having kicked the man's ass once before in private, he figured it would be an easy repeat, and this time there would be cameras present to capture every groaning second of it for posterity. Anytime there's bad blood between two competitors, the drama of combat is supercharged. Ethan's bigger than Lorenzo. He's also not hampered by Lorenzo's naive scruples over underhanded tactics. Ethan's a man who deals low blows not just because he wants to win but also because he likes to humble his opponent. For some reason, this disposition is more pronounced with Lowe. Between these two men there is a palpable chemistry that we sensed the second we saw them square off in the ring.
And for his relatively young age, Ethan Axel Andrewshas certainly been around! He's wrestled for more underground wrestling promoters than almost any other competitor, with the possible exception of Cameron Matthews. And whereas Cameron debuted with BG East and continues on its roster, Ethan has saved the best for last and he is absolutely hell-bent on making his debut a very splashy and memorable one - at Lorenzo's expense!
"I didn't agree to 'no low blows,'" Ethan protests. Well aware of BGE's long tradition of anything-goes fighting, Ethan plays fast and loose with the "rules" when there's no ref to enforce them. And nowhere in the contract he signed with BG East is the Marques of Queensberry's code even mentioned, much less mandated. As the battle intensifies from sparring to slugfest, the battlers shed the gear that ostensibly ensures the safety and decorum of the "sweet science" of the sport of boxing, first the head guards, which seem to get in the way, then the padded gloves, which fail to provide the bruising smack the brawlers hanker for, and ultimately even their boxing trunks and protective cups, the last pretense that Ethan and Lorenzo intend to keep this fight clean and "civilized."
