An Ace in the Hole
Sometimes there are undeniable facts that strongly suggest a particular match up is a foregone conclusion. For example, Ace Aarons is over 50 pounds heavier than Skip Vance. He has years of hard earned indy pro wrestling expertise, whereas Skip's extensive resume has been strictly pick-up and underground wrestling. Ace has indisputable heel credentials. He savors the tears and anguish of a wailing opponent like fine wine. Skip, on the other hand, is a notorious jobber who never fails to put up a fight, and yet almost never succeeds in winning a match. At first glance, seeing Skip stroll into the wrestleshack to find Ace waiting for him looks like watching a lamb heading to slaughter.
"You think you can handle this?" Skip challenges, defying the odds makers. He's older and wiser than in his first BG East match back in the day, but he's every ounce the same ultra lean, uber-cute babyface lightweight as always. "Come on now," Ace laughs, rolling his eyes with contempt. "I think I can handle this!" Ace is pumped and primed, his magnificently muscled body seeming to exert its own gravitational pull on his smaller, circling opponent.
What Skip does have on his side, however, is the element of surprise. When Ace confidently cranks his lightweight opponent in front face lock, Skip shockingly sweeps the indy pro's feet and drives Ace to the mat. Just when Ace locks him up in bone crushing body scissors, Skip dips into that irrepressible reservoir of raw will power and spring-loaded momentum to roll the big man into a near pin small package. The indy pro wrestling ring is not the splinter-laden, unfinished wood walls and tight confines of the wrestleshack. Skip has been here before. He knows the unique potential and limitations of the shack intimately. For all of Ace's vaunted pro credentials, here, in this house, he's the newbie.
You don't just stop an avalanche in its tracks, though. Either one of Ace's muscled upper thighs is as big around as Skip's waist. Raw, dominant power translates to dangerous offense in any context. Even Skip's well known tenacity hits the pause button once Ace snaps his tree trunks around his opponent's waist and starts to crush. "Just... wait!" Skip sputters, struggling for air, paralyzed by pain. "How long am I going to have to wait?" Ace laughs openly, shockingly slapping the bruised babyface hard across the cheek.
Ace isn't laughing when Skip wraps his fingers around the big man's prominent bulge and starts wringing a shocked whimper out of him. More than familiar with having to overcome an early deficit in a match, Skip decisively exploits Ace's slack-jawed introduction to brutal ball punishment, snapping his surprisingly powerful legs around the big man's midsection and squeezing out gasps of pain. "Come on, bitch!" Skip snarls, riding the intoxicating high of making a big, cocky opponent reevaluate the threat posed by a carved lightweight like Skip. Ace can't quite believe the sound of his own voice submitting, repeatedly. Losing a fall is rare enough for Ace, but being dragged over that edge more than once by a skinny, blond babyface is completely uncharted territory for the stunned pro.
"If that's how you want to fight," Ace grunts through the agony, "then let's fight dirty!" Time and time again, Ace's dominant power and hardcore sadism start to rip Skip apart like a turkey dinner. And over and over, Skip soaks up the punishment like a sponge and claws his way, via Ace's prominent bulge, back into contention. A competitive match was the last thing that Ace expected from Skip, and every minute Skip defies his heel opponent the easy victory, the more bitterly Ace turns up the pressure. Just another submission will not settle this score. A stunned apology and openly begging for mercy won't put this instant grudge to rest. It will take one man sleepered out cold and trampled underfoot before this unexpectedly bitter contest reaches its decisive conclusion.
