Getting the Horns and Getting Ideas
Ray Naylor came to BG East mainly because he is, he told us, "the biggest Cameron Matthews fan in the world!" As if to prove his point, he pulled from his wallet a weathered, folded printout of a BGE Arena photo of Cam. When he gave us a demonstration of what he can do on a wrestling mat, the decision to face him off against his idol was the easiest we ever made. Yet Ray just may be Cameron's toughest and wiliest opponent to date. He's a scrappy fighter who takes his grappling seriously. Cameron makes the initial mistake of taking him for just another fanboy seeking a photo op with his longtime hero. He holds back just a little - which only serves to piss Ray off. "That's all you got?" the fanboy grumbles, even while Cameron ties him into a painful knot. No sooner does Cameron get Ray into what would be a finishing hold for any other wrestler than Ray escapes and counters. And he counters with such vehemence and drive that we worry that Cam's biggest fan wants nothing less than a piece of his wrestling idol to take home with him as a trophy!
"You fuck with the bull, you get the horns, you know that?" Cameron growls, both impressed and taken aback by the force of Ray's offense. Cam straddles the rookie's waist, securing him between his thighs, bearing down on him with his full weight, while pressing his arms to the mat. "Not feeling the horns," Ray quips provocatively. By now the wrestlers are in perfect sync, reading each other like Fifty Shades of Grey. "Keep squirming and you'll feel something," Cameron retorts, every nuance in place, and if our glasses weren't steaming already, they sure as hell are about to start. Ray taunts Cam, calling him "Baby Dick." He knows exactly what he's doing, and Cameron not only understands the message (and its implicit challenge and come-on), he's right on top of it, saying, "You're about six inches from the best time of your life," before smashing the fanboy's face to his crotch. If Ray is getting certain ideas, then Cameron too is getting the idea that his opponent has the right makings of a perfect "little slave boy," all his own. Of course, BG East's Undagear series has always taken teasing roughhouse to its limit ... and often to its logical conclusion. Cameron and Ray raise the bar just a little bit higher.
