Small Guys First!
Jake and Lon get things started. "Small guys first," Lon quips as the two wrestlers lock up. Lon gets a strong start with a side headlock that drains the blood from Jake's forehead. Soon enough, though, Jake breaks free and shows Lon what a real migraine feels like. Lon can't stop his yapping, regardless of whatever tight fixes his opponents put him in, and his verbal assault on Jake is virtually nonstop. Bested by a tougher Jake than he expected, Lon calls for Coop to enter the ring, thinking the tan and brawny god is all muscle and no speed. Austin climbs in, nostrils flaring, ready and eager to get Lon in his clutches. "Lay off the Red Bull, son," Lon jeers, but soon enough he realizes that Austin brings a lot more speed and agility than the man's dense, heavy muscle would seem capable.
Coop aims for a clean fight, but Lon is not above using his fists. From the red, white, and blue corner, Jake cries foul, "We don't negotiate with terrorists!" Coop cajoles Lon into taking the amateur referee position. Lon obliges, not taking the challenge seriously. In a couple of minutes, Austin has him twisted in knots and gains a clean, fair pinfall. Lon wants a second chance, this time with Austin in the bottom position. "It's easy when you're on top!" he claims. Austin obliges, but Lon jumps the count and quickly lands some cheap shots. Lon calls Austin "big, dumb, and stupid," but the insult does nothing to stop Austin from wailing on Lon, till, having to admit he's out-muscled, Lon tags Nicholas in.
In tandem, Coop and Jake put the new heel-boy through the ringer. Nick can't get his slippery teammate to tag in. Lon just shows his palms and turns away. He refuses to intervene on Nick's behalf until Jake's back is turned, and then Lon attacks from behind. In his punishment of Jake, Lon pulls out the stops in villainy, yanking him around the ring by the hair, twisting his body till Jake's sculpted chest glimmers with sweat. It turns into a brawl with all four men in the ring, and each man gets a turn at being double-teamed by his two adversaries. At the match's high point, Nick and Lon work Jake long and hard, while Austin struggles to reenter the ring, only to get kicked down every time. We won't spoil the finish on this one, but Tag Team Torture 15 provides exactly the kind of action, agony, heart, and showmanship that fans have come to expect of BG East!
