The Plot Thickens
They don't know it, but Charlie Evans and Cap Landon do not stand a chance against Calvin Haynes and Jonny Firestorm. The two strapped together would take up less space than Calvin's hairy chest. And Jonny, of course, is a walking talking encyclopedia of dirty and effective holds guaranteed to submit or knock out anyone who gets in his way. What Charlie and Cap have, though, is confidence totally unattached to reality. They have seen these heels only on video, imagining from the comfort of their couches that they could beat them. They actually believe that Calvin and Jonny are afraid of them.
Calvin and Jonny enter in jungle-cat-print trunks, ready to give their opponents a reality check and a few rosy welts. These two faced each other in Hunkbash 18, which won the 2016 audience poll for Best Submission. They know each other well, their strengths and their weaknesses, and they know that even at their weakest, either one of them could tie their two overly optimistic opponents together in a knot. Easily.
Cap and Calvin are first to face off, but Cap tags out before the action commences. Calvin pushes Charlie on his butt three times, without even appearing to try, but Charlie surprises him with a body slam. Charlie uses his speed and agility to get the better of a now-dumbfounded Haynes and plants the big man's head into the mat with a smartly executed DDT. He follows with an octopus hold, but his smaller arms and legs cannot contain Haynes's brawny physique. Calvin spins and drops the dizzy challenger on the mat.
Evans tries to tag out, but Calvin pulls him into a reverse bearhug, then a standard chest-to-chest hug, either one of which could probably have knocked Charlie out had Calvin been inclined to drastically shorten the match. Jonny and Calvin join forces in double-teaming on Charlie in their corner before Calvin tags Jonny in. Cap averts his gaze while his partner suffers the beatdown of his life at Jonny's hands. Cruelly, Jonny toys with Charlie like a cat on a mouse, taking some time to add some handprints to Evans's smooth ivory chest.
All of a sudden, Charlie surprises Firestorm with a flying headscissors takedown, but Jonny spins him by his feet, slams him to the mat, and locks him in a Boston crab hold. Charlie taps out. A wedgie and a spanking add to Charlie's humiliation before Jonny passes the kid back to Calvin. Desperately, Charlie looks to his partner for relief. Again Cap backs off, refusing to tag. "I think you're good," he says, "really, really great." He explains to a surprised Haynes that he's only at ringside to support and coach his friend. Then he changes his mind and tags in. Suddenly he's all over Calvin, landing punches in a surprising show of nerve and force and then joining fist to fist to hammer the big man facedown on the mat. Cap is also equipped with a seemingly inexhaustible sharp tongue and razor-sharp wit.
From here on, things get hinky fast. The rest of the match consists of not one, not two, but three betrayals. One you may have already guessed, but the second and third arise out of nowhere, complicating a match that promised to be an easy win for the heels. Twists and turns are nothing new at BG East, but these will make your jaw drop. We shit you not.
