Come On, Mr. Superstar, Let's See What You Got!
Ned Nader is stoked. It's not every wrestler who gets to make his BG East debut against the man who inspired him to get into wrestling in the first place. A victory over Cameron Matthews could make his name here real fast - not to mention fulfill every fantasy Ned's had for the past two years! The two young wrestlers are relatively matched in size, with Cameron having a slight advantage in height and weight and, of course, infinitely more experience. But Ned is brimming with ego, antsy to get his hands on his idol to show everybody he's got what it takes to become the NEW Cameron Matthews.
Surprise! Ned is more of a challenge than Cameron expected. He lunges in like a young bull calf. Cameron's got his hands full, but still he keeps the kid tied up. He takes it easy at first, confident in his natural advantage. He twists the eager beaver into some tight knots, just painful enough to remind Ned who's the one who has already paid his dues, who has held his own in the pro ring, who has sixty-plus e-mail messages a day from fans ... and who has not. His joints feel like they're on fire, but pride won't let Ned give in. He wants Cameron's respect and approval, and, too, and he envies Cameron's position, prestige and power. But the upstart's stubbornness starts to rub Cameron the wrong way, so he adds a little unnecessary roughness to put the kid back in his place and let him feel some sting.
In Fall 2, the guys strip their singlets down to their waists. Ned taunts Cameron, calling him a "little pretty boy" and "grandma's boy," but such underclassmen put-downs hardly faze Cameron. Ned desperately wants the world to see that he's ready for the big league, and, frankly, he proves his point. He closes the fall by submitting Cameron with a full nelson with body scissors. Then he strips Cameron's of his singlet! Having had a taste of dominance, Ned is all but beating his chest. But guard down, he makes an easy target for Cam, who strips off his purple singlet and pounds the aspiring superstar's chiseled abs till they blush. Tensions mount. Bodyscissors give way to gut punishment, which gives way to bulge bashing and rear naked chokes, as the wannabe and the pro go at it tooth and nail. Say what you will, but it's beginning to look like it's going to be a bumpy, bumpy ride.
