Heel versus Heel, Hunk versus Hunk!
At its midpoint, the tone of this match shifts radically. For the first half we get classic heel domination and near annihilation of an apparent underdog as Tyrell puts the smaller man through the wringer. After Jonny Firestorm turns the tables, the rest of the contest becomes a rapid succession of give-and-take catch-as-catch-can wrestling, intensifying by degrees as Tyrell Tomsen tyrannizes Jonny and Jonny kicks up a firestorm all over Tyrell. Repeatedly each man makes the mistake of letting arrogance get the upper hand on caution and ends up paying the price for it. Just when we think we can see how things are going to play out, there's a sudden reversal, and our minds speed to opposite conclusions. The fervor and intensity escalate, climaxing in an unpredictable finish.
Jonny's tenacity shocks Tyrell. Again and again, he wears Jonny down to the nub, but the broken, sweaty nub keeps coming back for more, the stakes rising exponentially every time. The brutality of the contest exceeds what even we might have expected of Tyrell ... and of Jonny. Tyrell complains bitterly that he just can't be "nice" to anybody anymore. This he says after shattering nearly every bone in Jonny's body! In the closing minutes of this sure-to-be-a-classic matchup, Tyrell at last submits Jonny in a crushing (and spinning) bearhug. He's exiting the ring when he hears Jonny mumbling, lips still stuck to the mat, "You just got lucky. You ain't so tough. I'd kick your fuckin' ass if we had one more fall." Does Tyrell bite the bait? You best your butt he does! What follows is unmissable, a phenomenal catastrophic "sudden death" we thought we'd never see!
Upping the ante is an old tradition at BG East, and this match takes ring aggression to new heights - and new depths! Jonny and Tyrell are superstars at BGE for good reason, and if ever proof of their shining star power were needed, this match, a rollercoaster ride of towering ego and one-upmanship, should certainly shut the mouths of doubters.
