Who's tougher? Face to face in the ring, Austin and Diego look each other up and down. Diego lunges, itching to get his hands on the gorgeous American. Austin deftly ducks out of the way. The two men set on each other, fists flying. They trade turns getting the better of each other, but quickly the fight turns one-sided and brutal. Diego gets cocky, complaining that he's being insufficiently challenged. He locks his opponent in a bodyscissors and yanks his head back by a fistful of hair, commanding him to submit. Austin barely manages to elbow his way free, but he's quickly cornered by his more aggressive tormenter, then battered down again and left slumped against the ropes. Then, when all hope seems lost, he eludes a potentially devastating blow and rolls the aggressor over on his back, pinning him, in a brisk and totally unexpected reversal of fortune, 1! 2! 3! Obviously, nothing is going to be easy or predictable in this showdown.
Diego has the makings of a great heel. Rangy and athletic, he does not hesitate to use savage tactics: anything goes, so long as it helps him get the job done. When the action gets wild and woolly outside the ring, he swings Austin headfirst into the ring post, almost knocking the hunk out. Then back in the ring, he applies the dreaded iron claw to Austin's solar plexus, a finisher once associated strictly with wrestlers of German or Eastern European descent, men like Fritz Von Erich, Baron von Raschke, and the infamous Killer Kowalski (who reportedly strengthened his grip by daily squeezing a tennis ball). Along with his predatory good looks and towering ego, Diego has a grim sense of humor. We hear his menacing laugh every time he catches handsome Austin by the proverbial short hairs.
Austin and Diego battle inside and outside the ring in a hot and heart-stopping battle that keeps everybody guessing to the bitter end. Sudden reversals, illegal use of the ropes, and ball-bashing against the ring post, these young warriors deliver all the drama we associate with classic professional wrestling. It's about as suspenseful and exciting as a match can be and it all leads to a harrowing finish. Even then the victor decides to pile humiliation on top of conquest, risking yet one more unexpected turn in the action. Diego is a discovery - long, lean, sexy as fuck and incredibly skilled and tough. He's a threat to anyone who dares to step into the ring with him. A spectacular debut for the brazen Brazilian!
